Young Life Family Camp

Our family has looked forward to returning to Young Life Family Camp ever since we attended last summer.  After having such a fun weekend, we decided to organize our own group and bring 55 of our closest friends!

We arrived during free time on Friday afternoon and all the kids couldn't wait to change into their swim suits and race to the zip line.  Sadie didn't feel ready to ride it last summer, and we thought Ashby was a bit young, but this year everyone wanted to go!

I had such fun stepping off the platform high in the trees with Sadie....she's growing into such a brave and confident girl!  Her huge smile the whole ride down was so awesome to watch.

All the kids had so much fun zip lining, and I especially loved watching Ashby ride down with her arms flung out in wild excitement and a huge smile on her face.  Even her head over heels flip when she hit the water that dunked her under didn't phase her.  What a brave just-turned-five-year-old!

We bunked with some pretty cute little girls.....here they all dressed up for Superhero night!

Strike your best superhero pose!

And the next day these cuties are ready for Rodeo night.

We tried to take a family picture, but Finley was hard to find.....he was so eager to be with his friends and not miss out what fun they might be having.

Young Life Club meetings are such a unique experience....full of energy, singing, surprises, laughter, building community and the message of God's lavish love for us.  Check out Finley (in the bandana and cowboy hat) enjoying the experience with his buddies.

One of the highlights of the weekend is the County Fair.....fair games to play, endless treats to eat and this year......pieing your parent in the face!  Mike is such a good sport and took one for the team.....I opted out.

We had so much fun with all of our friends at camp!  I think all the families really enjoyed themselves, got to try some new activities, learned more about the ministry of Young Life and hopefully were encouraged by the message and the community.
